Saturday was supposed to be Leanna's 10th birthday party, but the snow fell and the party had to be rescheduled. Leanna was very disappointed, but playing in the snow with Dad was a fair trade-off. Beautiful snow had fallen during the day on Friday, but that night a layer of sleet covered everything. There was no making snowballs or snowmen because of the icy layer, but that didn't stop sledding. Well of course we didn't have a sled, but where there's a will, there's a way. Who said a laundry basket and an extension cord can't be put to other uses and yes, we live in Tennessee. Watch and enjoy!!

So to catch up on the past few holidays... For Halloween, Leanna chose to be an Indian princess. She loves to dress up and always keeps her costumes for later pretend play times. Landon decided to be a plump pumpkin. We did all go out trick or treating in our neighborhood even though by nightfall it was rather chilly.
Here we are at Mimi and Pop's house for Thanksgiving. Leanna re-used the Halloween costume and became one of the original Indians for the Thanksgiving feast. Notice how excited Landon looks in this photo. While we enjoyed good food, he enjoyed a bottle of warm milk.

And finally, Christmas.... Do you know how hard it is to get both of them to look at the camera at the same time. If Landon is looking, Leanna manages to have her eyes closed or if Leanna looks cute, Landon finds something else more interesting to look at. Well, regardless, they still look adorable in their Christmas hats. We enjoyed the holidays visiting with family and being together. As January comes around we look forward to celebrating Leanna's 10th birthday. I'll get those photos added on soon!

Nathan's outnumbered....

the teams even out...

So I decided to go back and play catch-up on what's been happening with our family. As you know, Landon David Horton was born Sept. 23rd and completed our little family. Leanna is excited to be a big sister for the first time and has been a wonderful help. It had been a long time since diapers, spit up,and middle of the night feedings, so needless to say, I had forgotten all the work a newborn can be. It is rewarding, but exhausting at the same time. I am happy to say that at almost 4 months old, Landon is now sleeping 6-8 hours at night! I am finally beginning to feel somewhat rested and enjoying my time at home with him. More pictures to come soon, so keep checking back with us!

Welcome to our blog! Since several people told us we should start a blog, (thanks Todd) we finally decided to give it a try. You'll have to forgive me for my lack of technology skills and if Nathan's not home to give me pointers about creating a new post, there's no telling what will happen. So for our first pic - Leanna and Landon- imagine that! They are just the best kids ever. I can't believe Leanna will turn the big 1-0 at the end of this month. Wow, the saying "time flies" is so true. Landon will be 4 months old in a couple of weeks. I can't believe how much he's grown and changed in a few short months.
