November Update

Share my milk?  I don't think so... we've been drinking whole milk for several months now, but Landon still loves to drink it in his bottle.  We've got to start using our sippy cups more often.

Leanna in action.... she's in the chorus at her school and the following are pics from her first performance at Barnes and Noble Bookstore.  They listened to a story, then entertained us with holiday tunes.

Pops, Leanna and Mimi

Nana, Leanna and Aunt Erin

Craig, Leanna and Aunt Brina

Is this a cute face or what?

Landon sure knows how to vacuum.  He even makes sure to get under the chair.

This picture is for you Mrs.Peggy.  Notice how your "peanut" has grown up and Landon is wearing the polo you got him for his birthday.  They both look too grown up!

We recently bought a new camera and have really been enjoying it.  Take a look at these great shots!

Halloween 2010

Landon has enjoyed our jack-o-lantern.  His favorite thing to do is take the top off, put it back on...over and over again.

Isn't this the cutest giraffe you've ever seen?  Thanks Keeley for letting us borrow this costume.  It fit perfectly and
Landon looked adorable in it.

Do you think he blends in with his surroundings well?  I don't think you can see all five of his teeth in this grin, but
believe me if he bites, you know he's got sharp teeth!

Aren't they cute?

I think this picture turned out great.  Doesn't Leanna look so pretty?  It's hard to believe that she'll be 11 in a few months.

Here is our Spanish princess/masquerade ball girl.  She thought up this idea and we pieced it all together.  She looked
cute and thought this mask was fabulous.

The one above is from our trip to the pumpkin patch.  We've got LOTS of pictures to post, but I figured everyone would want to see Halloween first.  We got a new camera and it takes fantastic pictures.  We've been taking pictures of Leanna and Landon-check back later for more.

Landon's 1st birthday

This is Landon before the party began.  We tried so hard to get him to stand still by the mums, but he's always on the move now that he's walking.

Landon got several trucks for his birthday and loves all of them, especially if they make noise.

Here is his own personal birthday cake.  It is supposed to be puppy paws on the cake since that was the "theme" for his birthday.  I thought it best to give him his own cake b/c I didn't think anyone would want to eat it after he had his hands all over it!

What a sweet boy.  By the time he finished with cake he was covered.  This is the before shot.

Leanna and Landon... she's helping him open his presents.  I think he caught on pretty quick on what to do with those presents.

Landon sharing his pacifier.  For lunch we had hot dogs,  chips, potato salad and baked beans.  Landon will eat just about anything!

September 2010

Landon has discovered the fun of toliet paper!  He loves that all of this stuff can magically roll off with just the flick of the wrist.  It doesn't even bother him when all the paper is gone, he keeps rolling the cardboard roll for fun.

We went to the Nashville Zoo a couple of Saturdays ago.  We got up early (thanks Landon) and headed out to get there when they opened at 9am.  It turned out to be a perfect day- it was cool that morning and not crowded at all.  Landon kept pointing at every animal and saying "doggie".  If you don't know that's his favorite word and works for most everything.

Doesn't she look cute?  I thought this turned out good if I do say so myself.  My favorite part at the zoo was walking through the bamboo forest.  I thought it made a great backdrop.

What a picture.  Landon looks confused, I look tired already and Leanna is using her fake smile.

I know no one really wants to see pics of animals at the zoo, but I just had to include this one.  The flamigo exihibit had just opened and they were amazing.  We stood there for probably 15 minutes just watching them.  They were beautiful and it was so fun to watch them walk with their backwards knee.

Landon will hate this picture one day!  What a cutie though.  He loves to vaccum and is way more comfortable doing this chore in only a diaper.  He is walking everywhere and is hard to keep up with somedays.  Next post will be 1st birthday pics!

Appalachian Museum- vacation part 2

After we went on our scenic train ride we drove to Clinton, TN and visited the Museum of Appalachia.  We were there on the fouth of July so they had some fun activities for the day.  If you can't read the sign Nathan is pointing to... it says "smoke house/meat house"  If you know Nathan- you know that he loves meat!  We thought this would be the perfect pose for him.
Leanna and Landon are looking a little worn out.  Leanna got stung by a bee right after we took this picture and you would have thought that her foot was going to fall off.  We had to walk all the way back to our car parked in a hot field, change her into tennis shoes and get ice and a band-aid. She hobbled around the rest of the day, but eventually recovered.
I thought this turned out well.  Leanna and Landon in their matching flag shirts.

This is how Landon spent most of the day.  Being pushed around in a stroller on a bumpy gravel path can lull anyone to sleep.  I think he actually got a bruise on his head from being jostled around and knocking his head on the metal sides of the stroller. The highlight of the day was when Leanna was chosen to ring the bell for one of the original thirteen colonies.  She was so excited b/c she was chosen to ring it for KY.  Well, needless to say, the other kids got out of order and she was beside the bell for Rhode Island.  Leave it to Leanna- she just walked away and got back at the end of the line to wait for her "real turn".  We have this on video so we can use it to embarrass her someday.  Well the last bell ringing was for TN which she ended up doing, but was disappointed b/c it wasn't KY.  We tried to convince her that it was even better to ring it for TN, but she didn't think so.
Sorry it's been so long between posts.  I couldn't figure out how to load pictures with the updated editor setting and I've started back to school so it's been busy!

All Aboard

We decided to take a quick weekend trip and headed to Kentucky. Landon is modeling his boxers/swim trunks before we go. Who wouldn't want his body?
Leanna is doing so much better at swimming. If you know Leanna, you know she is afraid of putting her head under the water. Well- a floatie and Nathan can work wonders! She was "swimming" (in a floatie ring) all over the pool chasing Nathan and splashing with him. She managed to get 95% of her head under the water which was a big deal for her and had lots of coaxing from both of us. Landon also had a fabulous time splashing and thinking he was in a giant bathtub.

We went to Stearns, KY where we rode on a old train and visited a coal mining town. Notice Landon- he was lulled to sleep by the click clack of the train ride!

Nathan did a good job capturing the train and scenic views from the train ride. Leanna loved it as we passed rock cliffs, went over a trestle bridge and went through a really dark tunnel.

Here are my favorite three people getting excited about trains. I'll post soon on part 2 of our weekend adventures.

Slip-n-Slide

Landon loves the slip and slide. We bought him a baby pool, but he just wants to crawl out of it and go hang out with Leanna on the slip and slide. He thinks it's funny when the water hits him in the face and he kept sticking out his tongue to drink the water.
After splashing around I snuggled a naked boy in a towel who decided the towel shouldn't stay dry! Ha, ha.

Leanna and Landon telling secrets. The look on Landon's face is hilarious!

And the champion is....LEANNA! She is now a pro this year at slipping and sliding! She learned from her mistakes last year and has shown great improvements in her technique this summer. She has played so hard that we are already on our second slip and slide so far!

I just think this picture is great! Father and daughter working together. Hope you are having a cool summer.

June 2010

Remember Landon loves Leanna's baby doll, Annabelle. We say that she is his "girlfriend". He cracks up when you turn on her "talking" and he will laugh and talk back to her. I've decided he needs his own baby doll for his birthday (just don't mention that to Nathan!).
Who doesn't like to relax after a bowl of rice cereal and 7 oz of milk!?! Look at that profile!

Our family photo before church last Sunday. Notice how Landon put his hand (not posed) on Leanna's shoulder.

My two sweet children

Todd- do you recognize this outfit? Well, you should.... I think Mom has pictures of you wearing it.
